HERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER...

“Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

1. Do you BELIEVE in Jesus as your only Savior?

Many people believe that Jesus was a good person, but do you BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God and part of the Trinity?  Do you BELIEVE He died for your sin and is the only way of salvation?

2. Are you ready to REPENT of your sins and live for Him?

Giving your life to Jesus requires REPENTANCE. To repent mean to confess your sin and commit to living for Jesus!

3. Are you prepared to SHARE His message with the world?

Once we BELIEVE & REPENT we are ready to share JESUS with the world through Baptism and Testimony! Your testimony is sharing the good new of Jesus and how you came to follow Him!

What is Baptism?

Baptism is the formal, public confession and covenant of a Christian committing their heart and life to Jesus. They commit to Jesus, repent of their sins, and then make a public covenant through baptism. Baptism is a pledge to live your life for Christ, it’s the wedding ceremony of the Christian Faith, the pledge of “I DO”, but the proof is not the water, it is the lifestyle that follows. Baptism comes after conversion; it is the outward profession of an inward decision. The symbol of baptism is the washing away of the sin and being born again. The seal of baptism is the Holy Spirit inside you.

Who Should Get Baptized?

Baptism is reserved for those who understand the Gospel of Jesus and have wholly committed their life to Him by repenting of their sins, believing in Him for salvation and pledging to live for Him. Dedications are for babies whose parents commit to raising them in the Lord, but Baptism is for those who have come to age and understand that they cannot receive salvation apart from the finished work of Christ on the cross. To be certain you are ready to get baptized, we provide a class beforehand going over the essential information.

…“Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” - Acts 2:37–39 (NIV84)

Baptism By Immersion

Some traditions sprinkle water and call it baptism. We believe that the New Testament teaches baptism by Immersion. The word baptize in the New Testament comes from the Greek word βαπτίζω [baptizo /bap·tid·zo/] which means to dip or to immerse.

“… this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.” - 1 Peter 3:21–22 (NIV84)
